“FIU Music Festival’s opening night concert is a celebration of Cuban heritage. From Moises Simon to Benny More and many more featured surprises including the orchestral world premiere of Ernesto Lecuona’s Rumba-Rhapsody, get ready for an evening filled with the classical and unmistakable rhythms of Cuba featuring the FIU Symphony Orchestra, joined by pianist Tomas Y. Tirino, the FIU Concert Choir, the FIU University Singers, Encantus Voices, the Miami Children’s Chorus and more!” - FIU School of Music’s website.

Mezzo-Soprano Erika Vasallo will be singing as the Alto Soloist in the premiere of Ernesto Lecuona’s Rumba-Rhapsody.
